At Atlanta's Washington Park Pool, Anne Dunivin boring and calculating makes her way into the water. She says, "My girls get me to the pool, alert a week. And I bathe for at atomic bisected a mile. I bathe laps, from that end to this end and again back."
Anne's love-affair with the baptize started a continued time ago.
Born in 1916, aloof at the appendage end of World War I, she grew up during the Great Depression.
They had no money, no one did. But, at the Grant Park pool, Anne apparent kids beneath 12 could bathe for chargeless afore noon. So, by six, she was in the water, about every day but again she grew up, and activity got in the way.
Dunivin says, "When I affiliated and had three children, and a husband, and a house, to attending after, you don't aloof say, 'Oh, I anticipate I'll go swim.'"
That would appear abundant later. Afterwards the kids were developed and Anne absent her husband, Anne begin her way aback to the water. She says, "Well, hey, I noticed that earlier bodies are swimming!"
Not aloof swimming, competing. Dunivin says, "I was interested!"
So, at the breakable age of 93, Anne abutting U.S. Master's Swimming. She says, "I like accomplishing it, I like actuality competitive."
You chase adjoin bodies in your age group. Anne says, "For my age, I am an aberrant swimmer."
Anne wins, a lot, and holds civic records. And the baptize has helped her advance through some adamantine things about accepting older, like breaking her hip.
