International Flight Connection in Atlanta Baggage Check?
I am a US citizen, and I will be flying back from England and have a connecting flight in Atlanta on Delta. Will I have to go through security again when I get to Atlanta or will I have to recheck my baggage?

If there is a secure connection between gates, then no, you do not need to go through security again. You will go through customs at your first point of US soil (Atlanta), but your bags should check all the way through to your final destination.

You do have to briefly collect your luggage in Atlanta. You go first to Immigration and then to Baggage Claim (there are carts). Collect your luggage and take it to the Customs checkpoint. The Officer there will almost certainly simply take your stamped form and wave you through. Then take your luggage to Interline Baggage, which is a short distance after Customs. You give your luggage back to the airline - you don't have to check-in again. Unfortunately you do have to go through Security again. If you bought something at Duty Free or on the flight that can't go through USA security you need to put it in your checked luggage after the Customs checkpoint but before you give the luggage to Interline Baggage. Then follow the signs to the gate for your onward flight. Note that almost all international flights arrive at Terminal E in Atlanta and your onward flight will probably depart from one of the other terminals. The underground train is fast and efficient.

Actually, you do go through security, but you don't have to recheck the bag. When you arrive in Atlanta, you first go through passport control. Then you'll have to pick up your bag and carry it past the customs checkpoint. Then you drop off the bag to be sent on it's way to the next flight; it will already be checked to the final destination. Then you'll need to go through a security checkpoint to get to the area where the gates for your connecting flight are. If you've bought liquids in the airport after you went through security in London and carried them on to the flight to Atlanta, you need to transfer them to your checked bag before you drop it off.
